Skull Wax Seal Necklace

Es fui sum eris {as you are, so once was I; as I am, so you will be}. Skulls, in heraldry, represent mortality, a reminder that we all come to the same end no matter the path we take to arrive there. They are meant to give the bearer a reason to live their lives to the best of their abilities each and every day, as if it is their very last. Handcrafted from the impression of a British antique wax seal from the late 18th century.

This artisan partner of ours traveled the world collecting upon many rare and cherished seals. Each piece of jewelry takes the original meaning from the seal used in its creation, embodying such themes as hope, courage, friendship, love and strength - among many others.  (This artisan, Plum and Posey, is not affiliated with Pyrrha.)
