Thistle Wax Seal Necklace

Above the thistle, in Latin it reads ‘Dulcius ex asperis’ (sweeter after difficulties) a tiny bee hovers above. Bees in heraldry symbolize diligence and tireless effort, hard work and industry. Handcrafted using an English wax seal dating from the 1830’s.

This artisan partner of ours traveled the world collecting upon many rare and cherished seals. Each piece of jewelry takes the original meaning from the seal used in its creation, embodying such themes as hope, courage, friendship, love and strength - among many others.  (This artisan, Plum and Posey, is not affiliated with Pyrrha.)
